Italy. Italian Army grows medical cannabis

The Italian army has been drafted in to produce cannabis for the nations medical cannabis users, a high security military base in Florence has been selected to grow cannabis.  Cannabis can be prescribed by Italian doctors, but Italian patients have struggled to get a supply of good quality cannabis at affordable prices.  This is where the Italian military is expected to bring significant benefits, growing cannabis in an organised way to produce the best quality at the right price.  With street prices of over €20 per gram cannabis is often too expensive for some people, but the military expect to be able to reduce prices to €5 per gram, if they can fine-tune their growing operation.  The initial mission is to produce 100Kg of cannabis per year
