USA. New York cannabis arrests down 40% since 2011

Cannabis users in New York are now being routinely 'left alone' as New York cops choose to stop arresting users.  Not only is this the right decision, it is also one which is allowing New York to save millions of dollars which woyuld otherwise be wasted arresting and charging stoners.
It is a win-win for New Yorkers, and the result of some sensible thinking between the Mayor, his staff and the local Police Chiefs.  So far, as expected, there is no 'downside' to the new stoner-friendly policies and the savings in police time have been enormous.  Future savings to the city of New York will increase as many New Yorkers feel the time has come for a full legalization program to be implemented.
