USA. Washington state throws 220 cannabis prosecutions out of court

washington state throws 220 pot cases out of court

Following the vote to legalise cannabis in Washington USA the local courts have already started dropping cannabis prosecutions even though the new ‘I-502’ rule legalising weed technically does not come into law until December 6th 2012.  The prosecutors feel there is no point giving out any further criminal records now for an ‘offence’ which will be legal in a few weeks time.  The 220 cases involved are simply being dropped, it is unlikely that any jury would have found the defendants guilty anyway in light of the recent vote to legalise.  This is further great news for US stoners and another victory for common sense.
