USA. More states vote to legalize cannabis on Nov 4th

On November 4th Alaska, Oregon and Washington DC all vote on whether to legalize recreational cannabis.  In Oregon the vote will allow adults to possess a generous 8 ounces of cannabis as well as 4 plants.  Alaska would allow for up to 1 ounce (28g) of cannabis.  Washington DC would allow up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis for legal personal use.  Of course all these initiatives require votes and early indications point towards a win for the cannabis community.  However, the votes may be close and all cannabis lovers are being urged to turn out and vote.
Florida is also voting, but for legal medical use rather than recreational.  And on top of all that voters in South Portland, Maine, and in Berkley, Michigan will also have the opportunity to legalize cannabis.  Both of these cities will debate legalizing up to 1 ounce of cannabis.  In all cases the moves to legalize cannabis will free up valuable time, resources and money that would otherwise be wasted trying to enforce an unworkable prohibition.

The USA cannabis debate has been great news for cannabis activists elsewhere in the world.  With each passing year more and more of the USA legalises cannabis, as this happens global respect for cannabis prohibition crumbles irreversibly.
