Chile. Cannabis removed from hard drug list

The President of Chile has removed cannabis from the nations list of 'hard drugs'.  Additionally, President Michelle Bachelet has also allowed cannabis derived medicines to be made available in Pharmacies.  Chile is rapidly moving towards a fully USA-style legalisation and these new freedoms are a great victory for Chile Cannabis campaigners.  Last year Chile agreed legal mass-production of cannabis for cancer patients.  Next, Chilean politicians are expected to debate new rules to allow the public to legally grow their own cannabis for private consumption.  More information is available here
