UK.  Green MP Caroline Lucas claims that the UK criminalisation of cannabis is "inhumane, unjust and immoral” at a recent event organised by medical cannabis campaigners.  The claim adds pressure to the UK Government to follow the example of nations such as the USA and regulate cannabis. Currently the UK cannabis market is completely unregulated and it remains a major source of untaxed revenues for organised crime.

The protest about cannabis prohibition took place at the launch of the UK’s newest medical cannabis campaign, the United Patients Alliance, in Brighton.  The UK is expecting a Home Office review of cannabis laws later this year,  and the United Patients Alliance are already in direct dialogue with politicians about a regulated market for medical cannabis.
