The state of Alaska signed the documents this week making recreational use of cannabis legal.  Alaska joins Colorado, Oregon and Washington state who also have legal recreational cannabis.  Around half the USA (23 states) has legalised medical use of cannabis and many other states are now in the process of voting for further medical/recreational legalisations.  14 states are expected to have legalized for recreational use in the coming 5 years and there is no doubt that the USA is now helping shift large sections of international public opinion in favour of the cannabis movement.
By the end of 2016 Arizona, California, Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada will also vote on legalizing recreational cannabis, and opinion polls indicate that they should vote in favour.  Cannabis prohibition continues to crumble and the USA is leading the way.
