USA. Residents of Colorado woke up to 2014 with legal recreational cannabis openly available for sale in many of the states newly legal pot outlets. It's a fantastic moment for citizens of Colorado and a landmark day for all cannabis campaigners; stoners have already called the event 'Green Wednesday'
Residents of Colorado can buy up to an ounce of pot, but non residents will be restricted to a quarter ounce. Under state law cannabis can be legally enjoyed on your own private property, or on someone else's property so long as they give permission.
Many new business have opened up to support the legal sale of pot, and local sources say that there is already competition emerging to provide the best quality locally grown cannabis . Shops selling pot are also competing to provide the best range of varieties which will offer something for recreational and medical users. The real significance of the Colorado legal pot sales will be seen in a year or two when critics realise that the legal regulation of pot is far more desirable than the madness of an expensive (and unwinnable) 'war on cannabis'
Congratulations to all Colorado citizens, the rest of the world looks on with pride and a little bit of envy!
