USA. Oregon legalizes cannabis

On July 1st Oregon followed Colorado, Washington State, and Alaska to fully legalize the use and possession of cannabis for both recreational and medical use.  Oregon adults aged over 21 will be able to possess a generous 8 ounces of cannabis indoors.  Outside their home they are allowed 1 ounce, they are also allowed to grow 4 plants so long as they are ‘out of public view’.
Washington DC has also passed laws legalizing cannabis but bureaucratic arguments have prevented sale and subsequent taxation.
