USA. Researchers start understanding how cannabis reduces anxiety

One of the most reliable medical news sites ‘Medical News Today’ has released a fascinating finding by Vanderbilt University researchers.  The study focussed on the way cannabis is used by the body, and how the endo-cannabinoid system produces its own compounds.  The study does require a lot of medical knowledge to read and understand.  But the report shows that medical research is at last starting to try to find answers for many of the medical uses of cannabis.
Researchers say work is still ongoing, and there are no complete answers, yet.  But findings indicate that:
  • Our bodies own natural endocannabinoid system regulates anxiety and the response to it by dampening specific 'excited' nerve signals
  • Chronic stress (or extreme emotional trauma) can cause a reduction in both the production of endocannabinoids and the responsiveness of the receptors. Without the dampening effect of the cannabinoids, anxiety goes up.
The article on Medical-News-Today is in the link below.  The long term goal is to be able to understand the mechanisms for anxiety and perhaps use cannabis as a means to regulate anxiety.  Who knows, it could be one of the most important aspects of cannabis and it’s medical uses.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back. bedkabgbdega
