USA. Washington cop reassigned for handing out too many pot fines

seattle police

USA.  A rogue Washington state cop has been reassigned to ‘other duties’ after issuing 66 out of a total of Seattles 83 citations for using smoking pot in public places after the state legalized cannabis.  Although cannabis is now legal in Washington state smoking it in public can still result in a small fine.

The un-named cop has clearly failed to come to terms with the democratically voted legalisation of cannabis.  Seattle Chief of Police Kathleen O’Toole said “in one case the officer flipped a coin when contemplating which subject to cite”.  Arrests on black African Americans accounted for 36% of Seattle pot citations even though they make up just 8% of the population.  One of the many reasons the USA is legalizing cannabis in so many states is to stop the racial unfairness in cannabis arrests..
The officer has been reported to the Office of Professional Accountability and will not be allowed out on patrol while the investigation continues.
